Yeah, I have to wonder how hard the PO was on the poor thing.  It had 115K on it when I got it.  The engine sounded like someone chucked a socket set in a clothes dryer.  When I pulled it, I found a junkyard heat tab on it s0 in 115K miles they had lunched TWO motors.

I love mine. 2007 5 speed manual. Both this one and the blue 2008 got late model 2.5 Ford Fusion engine swaps. Kid wrecked the blue one last month, we pulled the engine and are currently looking for another one to put it in.

Just checked Polk and they show a whopping 325 of them still in operation (for all years)

I LOVE my 2007 Mazda5 - manual trans even! Scored it a year ago with a blown engine and swapped in a 2015 Fusion 2.5 engine with only 10K on it. Was super easy.  In the background is a 2008 I picked up for my kids.  Did the same Fusion swap.

My great-uncle owned a farm with nearly a mile of land backing Interstate 5 south of Portland. For starters, the painted outside driver door handle looks broken. Not having a functioning drivers door handle is a decent quirk level.

Reminds me of our ‘77 Rabbit diesel. Went in to Harbor Freight for something and came out to someone sticking fliers on cars for a UPS store. I pleasantly asked the person to not put one on my car - they stuck one under my wiper and said “you’re welcome”.

Saw one of these with Rivian Mobile Service livery the other day here in Norcal.
