Not to make light of the tragedy, but OF COURSE it was a G35 driver.

Yup. First pic that loaded totally summed it up. Note to staff: This is the kind of story that would be more than ok to use a slideshow for. A single slide slideshow. Other pics are unnecessary after that.
Sacramento (of course not one of the biggies, but it’s a decent size market) straight up cancelled it. Not because of Covid, but nothing in inventory to show.
That first digit is a zero. That odometer is capable of showing 999,999 miles. If it has truly rolled over, it is 1,057,919. The 1/10 mile indicator is in the trip meter and those numbers have a slight red tint to them to indicate that (not apparent in the pic).
For all of those asking “WHY?”
It’s got a well-used regular motor, a 330 cubic inch plant, it’s got new tires, tired suspension, probably some kind of shocks. It’s a model made for flex fuel so it’ll run good on E85 gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Original plates. There is a 17 year gap in the last two smog tests. It last passed in Sept 2020, which means that it is due now for its next biennial test, before that - it was last tested in Sept 2003. Could be suspect, the owner also could have moved to an area of the state with less smog that only requires tests on…
Yup, my father traded in his ‘69 SS396 Chevelle for one when the gas crunch hit and a distinct memory I had as a young grade schooler was helping him add oil at practically every fuel stop. Damn thing went through oil like a 2 stroke - he kept a case in the back.
The 4 cylinder was mocked in the article, but TBH I would prefer it. Far easier maintenance. That said, saddled with an auto in a wagon would have perhaps been a bit much. I dont recall if these were available with a 2.2 stick, but if so that would be the one for me (and make me want to pay asking price. If it was a…
I dunno - I have had both a 1992 Grand Marquis and a 2005 Town Car and really - for the size of the thing the fuel mileage was pretty damn good I thought. I used the TC for a commuter (40 mile RT freeway) and it never gave me less than 22 mpg. Can’t recall what the GM gave but it wasnt much worse.
While a suburb of Sacramento, there is farmland (and farmers) in the area. Wouldn’t surprise me if they had a farm or contractor fuel truck in the fleet.
This one is probably my favorite. About 20 seconds in - YARD SALE!
Of course it’s a G35.
Okay, I am dumb and need this part explained to me.
