I’m pretty sure Saab would love to travel back in time.

That’s awesome. What’s not awesome is the new layout. I know you probably had nothing to do with it... but... it’s bad.

Again, it’s worth mentioning that here in America, a land comprehensively crisscrossed with thousands of miles of dark back roads and a whole nation’s worth of wandering deer, this technology is bafflingly illegal.

2nd: I’m not going to say “I told you so” because nobody who designs autonomous cars cares what a guy who named himself after a syphilitic pirate posted in comment form on a car blog, but I’m gonna passive-aggressively work it into my comment as an insincere construction!

The problem for Boeing is they can’t just sweet talk the FAA. The 737 was grounded because the Chinese and Europeans grounded the plane without waiting for the FAA. So now they have to convince regulators that have a vested interesting in their domestic airplane manufacturing industries to let the 737 MAX through.

Boeing wants to be agile like the tech sector, so they move fast, break things, and turn their users into beta testers.

About 18 months ago got on an amazing clean Southwest 737 MAX jet in SFO and the flight attendant came on the intercom and said, “Congratulations everyone this is the first revenue flight for this plane!” I thought to myself, “Oh cool, I’m a test passenger”. In retrospect I think I would have said, “Okay, I’m outta

Boeing used to have the perception of making the world’s best commercial aircraft. Something has happened to them in the last 15 years or so; I’m guessing all the good managers left after the 777 was introduced. Between the completely unnecessary and brand-destroying 737 Max fiasco, as well as them moving certain

Have you even seen a Yugo? The Cavalier was light years ahead of a yugo.

You probably weren’t supposed to be able to flip the seats forward without using the lever, but that’s Ford quality for you.

Perfect for the “Boring Cars Nobody Gave or Will Ever Give a Shit About” Museum.

I don’t know how much the AWD added to the MSRP, but $7k is pretty close to what you would have paid for a brand new base Tempo in 1988. Ford was selling them for less than the Escort.

When are we going to stop pretending that shitbox econo cars from the 80's are somehow loved and missed? The reason it only has 17k on it is because they are TERRIBLE FUCKING CARS and the original owner quickly realized it. 7k? There’s no way.

wow, I had no idea an AWD variant was available for the Tempo. and this thing is in great shape!

I don’t really see how the Volt is a royal screw up in terms of it’s technical execution. If you want a plug-in hatchback it’s a great execution of one. The issues are more just people not wanting a small car and terrible marketing to automotive journalists. I remember all the awful takes from journalists when the G1

Yes, but 300 miles is usually on premium models, not on more basic, affordable vehicles.

Honestly, from everything I’ve ever read, the Malibu Hybrid is absolutely fantastic. It uses portions of the Voltec system (the Volt being another excellent vehicle - really what we need at this point in the game, until the infrastructure can handle the extra charging requirements of more and more electric vehicles on

Unless something crazy happens, a straight electric is just not practical for long journeys.  Not enough range, takes too long to recharge.  I have a 650 very rural miles to drive next week.... there's stretches without cell service.  Darn sure no charging stations...
