If it were to be truly off road capable, are there any charging stations in Moab?
The Hummer name has surfaced as way to tap growing demand for rugged SUVs with off-road capabilities
I live in LA, so my perspective is skewed. LA is one giant, overgrown suburb, so you make a good point.
I live in an area of high-density housing, with no off-street parking.
My neighbour recently got a Leaf. He has a multiplex cinema pass. Which has validated parking for the multi-storey car park. Which has fast charging included in the parking fee. So he charges up once a week while he watches a movie.
I think you’re think PG&E. But the city of LA will give you a couple hundred bucks to install a charger.
I considered electric when I bought my 6 a couple years ago. Wife still has a gas car, so we’d be fine for trips. For commuting <50 miles a day, as long as you’re parked at least 10 hours a night, even the 120V level 1 charger would work if you start the week on a full charge, for the most part. Unless it’s hot or…
I went to a PHEV when I had an outlet at my designated parking spot at work. I charged at work and that charge covered most of my commute. Since it was also a hybrid, the gas engine would just kick in when I ran out of energy. For anyone who regularly drives long distances I don’t think a full EV is a good option. I…
Yea that’s the main issue preventing me from getting an EV. I don’t want to deal with the hassles of owning a house for a short term but getting a charger installed in a condo requires more hoops than I can jump through. My work only has two spots and a lot more EVs so that’s not an option either.
Both of these together dwarfs the Tesla charging network, the one thing that Tesla had an advantage over previously.
It’s not the number of chargers, it’s being able to charge while not at home in an amount of time that makes it convenient. 30 minutes is still far too long when it takes me <5 to fill up my gasoline cars.
This is what I was thinking, I mean how many Americans know what LeMans is? Heck, I only have a vague idea that it’s a car race in Europe, and I’ve been reading car and truck magazines since my age was barely in the double digits.
Ford is considered a domestic brand in the UK and they consider the GT40 a primarily british effort, which is why Top Gear/Grand Tour remain obsessed with it.
“Well shoot. I kinda want to see it, but I ain’t seen the 65 movies comin’ before.”
More than likely the movie was originally called Le Mans ‘66, but most Americans probably think that’s some kind of champagne, so they changed the title for us.
The bike having been found rules out my first fear, but that doesn’t make it good news.
That’s a NOPE-lot of RPMs for me.
The Carrera GT was a legend. It was manual, a screamer, built out of the soul of a racing programme that never saw fruition, and is as iconic today as it was long ago.
Listen, I don’t know who in the hell you think you are coming around here with your ‘facts’ and ‘knowledge’; but I’m going to have to ask you to leave. Don’t make me call security.
I personally know of over 10 “drive off with no fob” incidents. The best was when the car ended up in Traverse City, 180 miles away from origin and couldn’t be started. Father drove up to TC and took away car from ditz daughter.
