TRAVELLER is a great call-out.
THE NAKED CIVIL SERVANT is great, and there is at least one filmed sequel, AN ENGLISHMAN IN NEW YORK (which I haven't seen, but which is available on netflix disc service)… there may have been other Crisp pieces for the stage.
Completely agree. Expertly done, well performed, terrific production… but still a very standard exercise of the basic horror "trapped-survive-fight-escape" plot we've seen too many times.

The cop-slaughter in T1 was something different entirely for the era. Really a before-and-after type of moment in 80's dystopia. (Clockwork Orange too artful… Death Wish, etc, too dumb. Robocop a few years away. Fort Apache the Bronx and Precinct 13 just re-worked plots from sheriff-takes-a-stand Westerns.)
