The coolest thing is these cars were built in small shops without huge corporate sponsors. You dont see any laundry detergent or candy bars on these cars.
Curved glass is not hard to make, it is done by making a very smooth wooden buck, and heating a section of glass and laying it on the buck. Still very expensive, but it is do able. There are companies that specialize in one off glass for concept cars, customs, etc

Would could have possibly been under the hood that would require it to be pryed open? Sometimes the decaying and boneyard picking of old cars is just to painful to watch.
