I "respect" Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons more than I actually enjoy watching these films by an order of magnitude. However, I am genuinely sad that the original 131 minute cut of Ambersons is lost. I doubt that I would find the original cut of Ambersons much more entertaining but as a film-geek I just

I love this quote. Catch-22 is one of the best books I've ever read. I also read 'Something Happened' about a year ago. It's pretty incredible and also very much overlooked.

I had to dig deep into the memory banks for this one, however, I agree - hilarious. I wonder how many people used his serial - millions?

tar balls or GTFO

My kids watch Daniel Tiger religiously. This show literally taught them how to share and pick up their own toys. My wife would be like, "Did you teach them this?" and I'd respond, "Look who you're talking to here - of course not".

F - this. C'mon T(d)rump.

I first saw Trainspotting in the theater when I was 18 and I read the novel when I was 25. I loved the movie (it's one of the movies that initially sparked my film obsession) and the novel really REALLY resonated with me at the time I read it. I was single then, trying to figure out my life, spent the majority of my

You made it a little better? But I wanted to keep complaining!!!!!
U suck A.V. Club!!!

What a great family. Having two toddlers myself, I just love this - now, on to the serious business….

I think it might be because the AVClub isn't so far on the left side that it's basically become a political website instead of a website with humorous articles about media / pop-culture. After T(du)rump got elected, some websites I used to really enjoy went SO overboard pushing their political agenda I stopped

A friend of mine once thought about how funny it might be to just randomly drop in talking points related to Scientology during casual conversation at a bar or a party….

I agree and have said this before, it's annoying when 4Chan as a whole gets labeled as 'alt-right'. It's not so much that the people behind this were 'Alt-Right', rather, they're 'Anti-Shia' and I think what they've done to that complete knob is absolutely hilarious.

Very insightful, especially, "the Democrats cleared the path for her hurting themselves in the long run and assumed she was a sure thing". It'd be so interesting to look up the Vegas odds for the election.
Seriously, really fascinating times! Sometimes I don't even know what to make of it. Now off to search Google for

Seriously, aren't we living in some fascinating times? Whenever I turn on the news and learn about the latest Trump outrage (re: making unsubstantiated criminal claims against a former president via twitter for example), I just can't believe it - it's like, surreal.

Interesting thought. I especially like, "so lost in their intellectual masturbation that any sense of morality is lost on them. They're disaffected to the point of incompetence." 4chan is like apathy taken to the furthest degree it can possibly go…

Sometimes I get annoyed when people 'categorize' 4chan trolls with the alt-right. Your average 4chan troll doesn't care about politics. Your average 4chan troll doesn't care about 'anything'. Not that I'm an alt-right supporter in the least bit, rather, I just think it's misguided to group all of the disaffected

Wish I could find a youtube clip of this, but there is this hilarious cut-away scene in an episode of Family Guy that depicts God exactly as you described, however, in the clip he's crotchety because he just quit smoking (which is also hilarious).

For some twisted reason, I find NYC and Times Square specifically, completely fascinating during this particular time period. I'm also one of those, "The Wire is the greatest television show, nay, WORK OF ART, ever!" So I am definitely an easy lay for this show…except for the fact that I don't really care for Maggie
