agree with most about any punk solo being an oxymoron and that classics (Hendrix/Clapton/Page/Gilmore, et al) are the standards that solos must be measured against. My faves:
- anything by Duane Allman (tiny solo/fill at 2:49 of Stormy Monday still gives chills)
- an underappreciated Martin Barre's solo on Aqualung
