I agree that this is a pre-advertisement move, but I think the NBA is gonna charge more for ad space for the teams with the gold patch. The teams in the NBA with a ring are generally the teams in in the premier games (like christmas day games) and I could see companies wanting to align themselves with 'winners'

Danny Ainge is a genius. He was able to pick up extra assets for a love deal while giving up absolutely nothing and gaining a first rounder. He can still move one or two of the many first rounders he has for another trade asset if he really has to to get a love deal done

this was an unbelievable trade by ainge, gets Thornton's expiring contract, a young center with potential in zeller and another 2016 first round pick. This just proves why he is one of the best execs in the game
