She doesn't really decay in the book until towards the end. Shadow could always smell something "off" about her and she feels cold, but I don't recall her decaying throughout the book. Of course I could be wrong. I'll be reading the book again - all 750 pages of it (10th anniversary edition).

Watch the last episode - the scene between Camille and - can't remember the name of boy that Lena slept with in the 1st episode. What is said in the bathroom between the 2 of them lead me to believe that Camille and Lena switched places….could be wrong, but….guess we'll find out in season 2 - maybe
