Good games don't have to look good graphically, but it doesn't hurt. I wouldn't be able to tell this game from something I played in 2003 honestly if I was only looking at the visuals. I pretty much thought the same thing you commented, but I really hope the game is fun.

No one buys a Nintendo console to play EA games. They buy them to play Nintendo games which make use of Nintendo's unique console features. I don't think this is a really big deal. EA has been making shaky decisions lately, and I believe this is another one.

I would like to point out that the games you held up as unoriginal are actually good games, even if they aren't your thing. Everyone is complaining about crappy ports, not just ports. Don't have hurt feelings about the Vita, just accept that Sony releases incredible hardware that starves for decent software.
