Dear Burner account,
Dear Burner account,
Just got home from work so your “reply” to my opinion is currently TL;DR but I will read your criticism shortly. But what I do want to say in the meantime is that I’m really surprised how few people attacked me for my opinion. And the few people who did were all people who had childhoods very different from mine AND…
I agree with what you said. But I can’t help but feel that WoW had a shifting playerbase and that’s why Blizzard decided they just didn’t care. People were no longer explorers, they were conquerors. I remember the WoW release party at my GameStop, people told me more about the colors, the world, the lore than they did…
I think it was lack of of a greater challenge. Think of what PvP is, it’s essentially a deathmatch arena where you can fight through the forests Harry Potter vs Voldemort style. And what felt great was the battle. Sure a loss sucked, but the meta of knowing x class was capable of beating x class was a thrill.
I miss retail shenanigans. I don’t miss angry customers who don’t get their shakes, but I do miss the shenanigans.
You might feel it was due to flying but the truth is, people stopped playing because there comes a point where there’s no one left to challenge you. Think about it. On a PvP server, you don’t have to worry about someone killing you if you are flying, but part of the reason TO play on a PvP world was that risk that you…
How relaxing was it to be in PvP reach and not having good armor to defend yourself or a good weapon/skillset to beat their butt? Not very relaxing was it? And I bet you were very upset about it at first. But then you rised to the challenge and beat them back didn’t you? Again, David and Goliath.
All MMO’s are about the struggle to be the best. When you’re already God-like, the game loses its appeal.
Do you care about WoW any more? Why or why not?
Just a reminder: You commented on MY answer. As a person on the defense, I think it completely absolves my responsibility to know your intentions. After all, you didn’t leave me alone, so it had to be due to your outspoken outrage of what I said. But I agree that all people on the internet should genuine and sincere…
It’s hard to know what someone’s intentions are if you don’t ask.
Not upset. The internet makes it hard to understand seriousness and satire. I could honestly care less about WoW. My son plays, not me. I played the TCG they killed. That’s how you know they were going to tank, they killed 1/2 of their fanbase by getting rid of the printable version of the game in favor of Hearthstone.
Sounds boring. No real threat then. Just a matter of surviving until new content is released.
You get a star :)
Everyone likes balance until it is balanced. Then everyone wishes there was a threat to overcome again. Let’s face it, the imbalance and the David vs Goliath feel was what made the game great. You know why? Because that’s real life. Rich vs poor. Privileged vs abused. White man vs black man. Without imbalance, life…
Picking apart what I say so you can argue with my OPINION makes you way more passionate about this than I am. See ya! You win! Congratulations, you won the internet today! Now go outside!
Arguably, what is the current WoW doing? Anything?
WoW is a free to play. They care more about selling power levels than they do subscribers. Subscribers are only going to pay for a few months and be done, the real money is enticing someone to be a God for a mere $60 or to buy a special mount or to buy a weapon or helm. The point is, the game knows it’s a “play it for…
Blizzard will never be confident. They are a business. A business that Vivendi didn’t want anything to do with after WoW subscribers were going south.
It isn’t the point of HOW MANY, it’s the point of WHO’S PAYING.
