Everquest 1 and Everquest 2 are still being played. You can’t say games die of old age. They only die because of poor game design.

See! Now imagine an entire zone that no one knew about that only God-like players could reach.
They gave way too much too fast. They raised the bar to players abilities without raising the bar of what is possible being dangled in front of them to keep them playing.
So again, the problem is, they gave too much too fast. They couldn’t keep up with the addiction.
Because it made people who reached God status prone to actually playing the game and not being “above it”.
So what happens when breaking all the games physical limitations no longer fascinates you? How do you get drawn back into a game that basically has allowed you to become a god?
Vanilla is what made the game interesting. No one explores by land any more, too many encounters (PvE and PvP). So unless they are going to create a zone in the sky, there’s honestly no point in playing the game if no one is going to actually play the content.
The only way to recapture the audience for WoW isn’t challenges. It’s giving a reason to care again. The game jumped the shark when it allowed flying mounts. If it wants to be relevant again, it needs a sky area that is only reachable by flying mount but it rendered USELESS when you’re on the flying zone. This will…
I don’t know why you are CHOOSING to argue with me then. What is your point other than to shame me that my problem with Tracer is “armchair activism”? I can’t believe that me having an opinion on the internet had everyone with an opposing opinion (or just wanting to give someone a hard time) wanting to debate with…
Words on a screen can have no tone. There was an article on geek.com last weekend about how satire is often mistaken as seriousness. Find it, it’s a good read.
When arguing with people on the internet about censorship and how final fantasy characters are “offensive” because of the way they dress, don’t have old dirt the person you’re arguing with can dig up that shows you honestly don’t care about how video game characters look.
I hate arguing with young millennials who don’t have kids because you think you’re “right” and you refuse to see life through someone else’s eyes or through a reality that is not your own... But, whatever, I’ll play your “objectivity” game for a little while since you WANT to argue with me... Here’s a link proving my…
None of them look like teenagers. That’s why it is okay with me. They are all very obvious adults. Tracer? She looks 15 at best despite her lore.
If we weren’t carefully picking out memes to state our point of view it would be stupid. This isn’t like Reddit fights, they are very carefully picked images/quotes.
I don’t remember this game being all button mashy. It’s been a while since I played the Star Ocean series though so maybe it was always this way, but I thought the game was more involved than this... I also don’t know if I like their font choice. But alas, it’s squeenix so this is probably a sure buy for me.
Totally agree. I find it hard to remind myself of delayed gratification. Life makes instant gratification so easy now. Free to play games, free samples, free access to news, free access to people’s personal lives, free access to drama, free access to friends, free access to praise, free access to resources....... But…
I agree that you have to explore what is possible and test boundaries HOWEVER in a game is kind of a waste of time.
