It's ok, I've come to expect it from Hillary supporters because they are so filled with righteous anger at my refusal to agree with them. Or maybe my refusal to believe a lying liar? Or maybe it's that I call her a lying liar? I don't mind. I refuse to lower my standards and vote for someone I know is not good enough.

Am I the only one who didn’t picture that shade of red for Jamie’s hair?

Yeah, as I said on a Gawker thread, it’s concerning that Hillary has mostly been winning states that the Dems will never, ever win in a GE. There have been a couple articles (one in the NYT, another in Rolling Stone) that discuss how Midwestern union member would rather vote Trump than Clinton. I find that worrying

I don’t know how many people are going to get that but I just want to give you like, a billions points.

Saw a grown man throw a hissy fit because he was a registered Democrat and couldn’t vote for Cruz.

Possibly ‘cause the very few democrats in that state are probably college students?

Yes I've read all the books but am not sure if this is snarky or not, lol. But if it's genuine I'm still gonna decline bc 1. That would take too long and 2. Spoilers

Yeah this is totally not a new thing!

As others have said, that will happen later in the series! I don't think there's an actual attempt to exclude here. Not a lot of 18th century black Scottish highlanders.

I mean I read and watched it for the historical fiction plus scifi mix plus great characters, it’s a bonus that they are hot and have sex.

The first season is about a clan of Scottish highlanders in the 18th century and an English woman who marries in, so they’re all ethnically Scottish or English. The second season adds some 18th century French nobles.

I mean no, it’s set in scotland during the 1700's so I don’t think it probably occurred to anyone to put black actors in it.

The first season took place in mid-18th century Scotland. How many black people do you suppose would have been there?

The show should be getting much more diverse as the seasons go on if they follow the novels. Not saying they couldn't have cast that way earlier but at least there will be actual characters requiring diverse casting later.

Yeah, DaVinci would like a word.

Who watches this show/reads this series and is bothered by describing it as smutty? What else could you possibly be watching/reading it for?

I mean do you really think Sopranos is the only one to ever do an image like that of a group? Plus I’d say the overall feeling is completely different.

I mean, they’re all basically just re-dos of The Last Supper.

Diana rules. As a reader of the books I’ve been following her Facebook page for a while now and she’s pretty awesome at smacking the rando complaints right down. Especially since people have been going nuts with the show, pestering her about casting and her constantly having to be like “1. If you read my descriptions

Blows my mind that anyone could dismiss Outlander as a bodice ripper. The historical depth, plot, and character complexity is astounding. Seriously, Outlander is one hell of a piece of work (which also happens to make me feel truly inferior as a writer).
