“So it is absolutely not a 200 or 300 hour epic unfinishable RPG.”
Honestly UI indicators for various quest, side quests etc, are fine IMO, just allow me to toggle what ones I want to see.
Yeah, I found it just as tedious as AC: Valhalla thanks to the shrines ALL being bloated to include three of the same puzzle in escalating difficulty, and basically none of the shrines giving anything of worth after you were about 1/2 through the game. I enjoyed it for a while and liked the look of it OK, but its thin…
It was okay. The game play loop got old much quicker then BOTW and the humor got old really quick
Jeez when you put it that way you make this decision look really stupid/.
So the company who only 15 years ago released the first Assassin’s Creed and sold 8 million copies and started a series of which each most recent titles have apparently only sold ~10M copies itself - that company is giving up on a new IP that they’ve admitted was a “healthy commercial success” to focus on franchises…
It’s becoming the new “A delayed game is eventually good; a rushed game is forever bad.” Where people quote it, and it used to actually have meaning. But the landscape is changing to the point where it is becoming more of a meme and not to actually be taken seriously.
Alternately... never buy a game, only have premium subscriptions and churn through four $60 games in a single $15 monthly subscription. (This is how I played through Far Cry 6, Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn, and Watch Dogs Legion for the low-low price of a Carl’s Jr. meal.)
Physical is like only 10% of the game for a lot of games now.
It’s on all night, but the app goes to a black screen/turns the screen off when you put your phone face down. It’s definitely intended to still be plugged in all night though
People interested in RTS games are likely to either be PC gamers, or Mobile gamers, and neither are likely to be interested in a console with low specs, paired with high game prices.
They try to hype up this league, force the game to change based on the few players in the league, and now the league is dying.
so lots of bloat and collectathon and map icons
That’s actually a deterrent to me. I am close to my 40ties, I have wife, kids, cats, dog. Investigating every nook and cranny of huuuuuge world is not for me anymore, as I dont want to play games that take me >1 year to complete. I’d rather have smaller world, but world where everything matters, like in recent TLoZ,…
Size queens.
Jesus Christ, no. Hard pass.
what?? every other AAA game is open world and tons and tons of devs go for gigantic spaces that cause games to take sometimes hundreds of hours to explore! this isn’t innovative in the least. that said, most of ubisofts worlds are fetch collectathons...i mean, how about some quality over quanitity.
No thank you.
For real, ubi games have good open world (yeah, I said it) and they have good gameplay (yeah, I said that too). But they do not have gameplay good enough to sustain interest through worlds this big. Valhalla was the absolute tipping point for me. It eventually got to be too much, like playing an MMO.
Hell,…
