What else are you going to do to teach new players the rules, grind the first few levels, and/or reveal the campaign’s plot? You all have to start somewhere... why not use enemies where it’s easy for the DM to “throw” the game (i.e. make it easy for new players to survive by making the enemies miss 3/4 of the time),
