This was absolutely written by a lawyer, but it is kind of willful stupidity to not call it rape when the woman does not view it as consensual.  I mean, that is kind of the definition of rape.  It doesn’t matter that Kobe wants to believe it was consensual, if he understands that she does not think it was consensual,

I’m not saying you said that.  I’m saying it should be the first thing people say about a rapist, and there are a few dozen articles by writers I generally like who happily blow through the little “Colorado” thing to sing Kobe’s praises.

This is kind of important.

I love you Michael, but the alleged in “remind people of Kobe’s alleged transgressions.” is hard to handle.

If people have fuck shit in their history that includes rape, then yeah, maybe that should be the first thing anyone remembers about them.

The dude admitted to raping her. He flat out said she did not consent. That is rape.

I was thinking the same thing, but they are awarding money to whichever team “wins” each quarter.

This is a decidedly unpopular position to take, but I’ve been pondering this since Sunday. I’m a basketball fan and have read just about every Kobe article here, on ESPN, and a few other places. Most, but not all, mention something about “Colorado”, but how it is addressed varies wildly.

I’m not religious, but my early Baptist upbringing and foray into sitting, kneeling, standing in a catholic church with a significant other suggests that most religions in the US have this same basic tenet.

Ned, that is a horrible comment, and you have now insulted my mother, her mother, and all my ancestors.  You must burn in eternal hellfire for your comment.  You are a scoundrel and likely infested with fleas.

That quote above is not out of my head. Your man wrote that line.

The young woman “took a pass on pursuing” this after Kobe’s team publicly attacked and embarrassed her.

To all the people who, “Well, one bad thing does not erase his other accomplishments...”

If we were more straightforward in addressing sexual assault and harassment, maybe it would seep into the culture a bit.

I cannot help but think that our collective ignoring “colorado” helps make more “colorados” happen.

Not to quibble, but I’m not sure Michael Jackson dying was exactly shocking.  Dude was seriously messed up.

I thought the one rule of nicknames was that you were not allowed to give a nickname to yourself.

What’s the fun of being a white nationalist if you cannot tell folks that you are white nationalist? And it is doubly fun if black folks are around.

Isn’t it strange that there are almost never any black adults playing “the circle game” in pictures? Just one big fucking coincidence there.

I say we go with a blanket statement that if you are an adult public safety worker, if you are still “playing a popular game among teenagers called the circle game”, then you are automatically disqualified from keeping your public safety job.
