He’s brave and wonderful, and as I said to my Mom, he’s probably saved a hundred Trans kids who feel a little less alone now. Kudos forever.

I’m excited to see how Jenner looks! I think he is helping a lot of trans people and I wish him every happiness.

She’s more like my boss than my teacher,

I haven’t read her article. But I do know that the proper response to someone who writes an article in “extremely poor taste” is to write a response that is coherent and lays out all of the reasons why her argument is not logical or irrational or what have you. It is not to completely chill out her ability to have an

Just because you don’t like her article though, doesn’t mean it was okay to bring Title IX complaints against her. They could have written a fucking rebuttal piece rather than making a mockery of a process that’s supposed to help people.

If she’s an underclassman, maybe you shouldn’t be dating teenagers

Sure, that’s part of it. But I think the bulk of the problem is that universities are very good at catering in general. They’ve demonstrated in numerous ways (most of which are fundamentally unrelated to the specific issue detailed in this piece) that they are willing to sell off the long-standing principles of

Having attended graduate school in a small town and dated a young professor in a completely different department from mine, I’m inclined to agree with you.

The article can be debated on its own merits (or lack thereof) without a group of students doing more harm to their movement than good and having a spotlight thrust on them while doing it.

This reaction is completely out of the realm of sanity.

Another NU grad student here, and I have to agree with you: The article was off-putting, faculty should be banned from sleeping with undergrads. Graduate schools can figure it out for themselves what they want to do— the programs are generally smaller and those inside each department are able to better assess

Thanks. Her essay reads especially almost flippant? in that context. Like this line horrifies me:

Agreed. Some schools have policies that are pretty draconian — I know of one where a professor cannot date a student in *any* department, and I don’t see the big issue if the professor does not have direct power over them in class. Frankly, in some small towns, good luck finding someone to date who isn’t a student!

I thought her article was ridiculous, but how on earth do you students think the appropriate response is to see that she is somehow punished vis a vis title IX?

F’s for everyone!

Sigh...this is why we can’t have “nice” things. Agree or disagree, fine. But really, this kind of thing just adds more fuel to the Rush Limblah army—”Feminazis!” he’ll cry, while sitting on his mountain of money. And the real issues will be swept under the rug as usual.

This is really ridiculous. I’m all for college students speaking out against abuse or hate speak, but this was simply a critically thinking professor who has a different stance/opinion than some other campus feminists. Feminism is not a monolith! We are all allowed to have different feminist beliefs!!

And how can you simultaneously assert that hand-holding and hugs are forbidden outside of marriage, but playing with your sleeping sister’s vagina is normal?

“Many times it is simply lack of opportunity or fear of consequences that keep us from falling into grievous sin even though our fallen hearts would love to indulge the flesh. We should not be shocked that this occurred in the Duggar’s home, we should rather be thankful to God if we have been spared such, and pray

Fuck that shit. They should sue. Because you know if it was some white women, not only would they receive payouts in the millions, there would be at 3 mother fucking congressional hearing on the matter.

As i sit here 9 months pregnant with swollen cankles, swollen fingers, swollen face. Yes, Yes she looks cooler than me.
