But look at the loveli lakes!
Except that Pantoliano and Tilly weren't up to the script. But I"m nitpicking because I truly love that film.
Cloud Atlas was ambitious but fails due to the Waschowski's decision to eviscerate the book's structure, and cross-cut the hell out of the narrative. Rather than each section containing its own emotional thrust, we sit with them too briefly for any of it to resonate. All emotional attachment I got from the movie was…
The fact that Jack is so bad at it creates such an immense insecurity within him and is maybe the main reason he is the last of the lost to find himself, to let go. This is a very common and very human trait.
Between this, Hannibal, True Detective and Mad Men I can't remember antime with more artistic shos in a single year.
Also notice how the show's title at the top was in blackinstead of red.
I have to admit I was so bored reading that book that I didn't even notice that.

Devoured most of Voices of D-Day over the weekend, and am about 3/4 finished with The Prestige, by Priest, my first of his books.
Great book.

For that alone, I rank it higher than the others. But they're not great literature, and the…
I feel like I've been waiting for Peggy to have that moment for the whole series.
My heart was leaping out of my chest to cheer for Peggy. I haven't been that happy for a character on TV ever.
I give it Frank Oz as Yoda because not once in the 34 years I've bee watching Empire have I ever thought I was looking at a puppet.
