Btw, I am curious, are you playing from a DVD or from the hard disk? I have the downloadable version, the game slows down just in the cities, where ther is no battles, so it is not a big problem gameplay wise. I recall just one or two more situations where the frame rate fell out of town.

No, the author could not. This game is not doing anything new if you think about the single elements: open world, big map, horse riding, slowmo combat, climbing, etc. It is how they are merged together that is unique and unprecedented, it truly is the best open world experience I and many others ever played.

Personal advice: rush for the first quest of the first four dungeons. Botw does not feature a tutorial but the short termed limited exploration at the beginning is a training ground. The game gets much better (not meaning that the beginning is not great, it’s actually glorious) after you get your prize for completing…
