May as well be.
May as well be.
They avoided one racist bag of shit, so we can excuse them for Nixon, Reagan, W and Trump.
I like how the OP made no substantive, objective points to detract from Obama’s presidency and points to the fact that people didn’t elect a racist 50 years ago, so that’s unassailable evidence of progress. And then the masterful, predictable final stroke - THIS IS WHY DEMS LOST!!!1!1!
I don’t think you understand: she had a private email server!
It’s very disheartening, in general, that people who do have sound moral reasons for their beliefs don’t understand the compromises that have to be made in a democratic society. They think that compromise is going “against their conscience,” but then don’t concede how that facilitates something like this.
America has progressed, leading the regressive among us to clutch desperately at their last shreds of relevancy.
It was so frustrating to see so many comments disclaimed with “I’m not a Hillary fan, but” or “She’s a flawed (read: not perfect, because perfection was required for her while minimum competency levels went out the window for the other side) candidate, but,” it was the progressive version of some cool girl nonsense.
So much yes to everything. Hillary and Obama don’t use us a goddamn thing right now. To even ask is petulant.
I’ve taken an approach that helps with my sanity: if they broach the topic, I’ll shut them down. There’s “reachable” and then there’s “WAY the fuck too far gone.” When your mom is reading Tomi Lahren tweets to you, apropos of nothing, and after having been told that you hate Tomi Lahren, they’re in the latter…
I dont know how Obama even does it.
SIDEBAR: I found myself in the “not going to bother talking politics with family” boat, though I couldn’t give less of a shit regarding whether the Obamas or Clintons speak out.
I love the Root on Monday mornings, always ready to take shit head on. Good Morning, Michael!
Dug “This Land is Your Land”, and this might be a bit of a hot take, but I think she’s a coward. Hear me out.
I think all the people saying some variation on “she’s a monster how dare he try to redeem her” are missing the point. Tyson is trying to show you that’s she’s not some extraordinarily evil cartoonish monster; she’s a regular person who turned out to be capable of doing something horrible. The point is the banality of…
On the other hand, don’t you think that, if parents CAN help their kids with certain things, then it’s nice/a good thing that they do?
Not saying that this is not a privilege (it definitively is), but in some cultural/ethnic groups it’s a lot more common for intergenerational households to live together so while the parent usually does get free childcare they also fully support their parents in their semi advanced age as the parents typically move in…
Up to 105 is not the same as being 105. What is officially known is that when research started in the 1970s she was full grown. Meaning she would have been at least 14 at that time. Better estimates seem to suggest she was in her 70s at the time of death. However females are already confirmed to live longer than…
The gingerbread man sits inside his gingerbread house. Is he made of house, he wonders, or is the house made of him?
She is beautiful, and is beautiful for a living. This reads more like humblebrag than fact.
