I was a little skeptical, but then watched the Running Wild episode, and agree with you, and wow, what a different interview encounter with a President.

I thought Spade’s point was fair enough at first, although there is precedent and context. I watched the show with Bear Grylls and I gotta say that it was well done. Not undignified in the least (not that the maker of a Joe Dirt squeal has much room to judge).
