Me too. Add to that, I am afraid of dogs.
Me too. Add to that, I am afraid of dogs.
I also have a friend who has a registered companion animal for anxiety issues, but he doesn’t have training and like your friend, she’s not abusing the privilege. I think the people who drag their poorly behaved pets around wherever they go and claim special status are ruining it for everyone else.
THEY WEAR LITTLE SNEAKERS.
You can have a service dog without a need but I get what you are saying.
There is nothing wrong with loving your pet. I understand your desire not to inflict unnecessary discomfort to your pet. And your willingness to drive so that your dog is comfortable is admirable. (other then the fact that the dog will get windburn and bugs in its mouth. Yeah I know what you dogs do with your head…
I think that aside from the actual Queen of England, a baby is the very last thing I would expect to find on the floor of a bar.
That was no service dog. They don’t run around. That’s just some lady that was like “Nobody can deny my cutesy poopsikins if he’s a ‘service dog’...”
I have zero patience for people who don’t leash their dogs in public.
My friend has a legit therapy dog because she had a pretty traumatic early life but he is certified and trained and she also brings him to meetings for veterans with severe PTSD so I know that there are service dogs and legit therapy dogs but my pal is also not an asshole about it and doesn't abuse it.
AND YOUR YOUNG ATHLETES WILL GROW UP TO BE TRULY MANLY MEN GRUNT GRUNT
Strangely, it turns out you can be a coach and not automatically be an expert on child rearing and/or child development.
Right? It’s hard to even tell what kinds of sports a kid may or may not be good at at that age. Kids grow and develop muscle differently during puberty than might be ideal for their chosen sport at age 7. I was a dancer whose hips rejected my chosen activity. On the flip side, I have friends who didn’t get good at…
I’ve got some clarification on the dog in the bulk head thing. My guess is that this woman probably registered her dog as a therapy animal, which is totally BS 90% of the time. My husband has an ADA service animal that he needs for seizure alert. When we fly she lays on the floor of bulkhead and quietly waits.…
Support animals don’t have “paperwork” that’s in any way binding. If a service dog is barking at people, it’s both not a very good service dog and a completely legally valid reason to refuse its partner’s service.
If her dog is an Emotional Support Animal, she was most likely not charged for flying with him and all she had to do was show her paperwork when she checked in. It’s best to let them know you are traveling with your dog when you book your flight, but there have been times when my husband didn’t tell them, and it was…
I disagree. Despite all the hoopla we hear in the media, a lot more kids participate in team sports now than when I was a kid (I’m in my late 30’s). I think more inclusive sports like soccer and encouraging kids to be active and YES to participate are positive things.
And totally not necessary because by junior high, the vast majority of kids who aren’t super good at whatever sport aren’t even playing it anymore. That’s the real problem— the push to have kids specialize at a sport at like age 7. Travel teams for first graders. Three practices and two games per week in baseballs for…
Sure, and that’s a great thing to start doing, maybe around jr high. These kids are in elementary school, ffs. I am usually firmly in the “we need to stop babying kids so goddamn much” but this is pretty ridiculous. Did he also tear down all the finger paintings off of the fridge? Like, I see the homage to Jackson…
I’m glad this brave man had the courage to stand up for such an important issue.
You don’t need to remind most kids on a sports team of that. The ones who aren’t very good are acutely aware of it.
