I can’t play my laptop comfortably in bed, or on a couch in an air bnb on holiday while my partner watches TV, or any number of other scenarios where setting up a laptop in an adhoc space would not be comfortable. If you didn’t like a Switch for the exclusives, but did like it for the indies, then this is a fantastic

That’s not at all true. Show me an actual *gaming* laptop (i.e. discrete gaming GPU) that you can get for anywhere close to $400. Doesn’t exist.

I’m keeping a close eye on the Steam Deck for a similar reason: less because I want a handheld device, and more because Valve artificially depressing the purchase price for market penetration purposes means it’s going to be significantly ‘more’ PC than I’d be able to buy for the same amount elsewhere. (Plus, I hope

It's for people like me, who have a high demanding job, want to play games quick and easy, want my kids to be able to play too, want to be able to play Civ kinds of games on the go, and last but not least stream games from Ps Now and Xbox Game pass

Only vaguely related, but: am I the only person who just doesn’t ‘get’ high framerates? Like, sure, I can tell the difference between 10 and 30, but 30 to 60 is more or less negligible, and 60 to higher is damn near imperceptible to me (as a difference from 60, I mean - I’m not implying that I somehow lose the ability

“Broken” implies it’s unintentional.

It’s not you, they’re just broken.

Whenever I get notifications on Kinja there’s no way to follow-up on it, as far as I can tell. It doesn’t matter what I click - I will be taken to the article, but never my comment nor potential response, leaving me to scroll-hunt for it on my own.

Which, of course, kills conversation completely dead, rending the

Yeah, was coming to post the same. Sure, it *could* be a coincidence, but the last couple years have me rethinking the validity of Hanlon’s razor. A very vocal minority of the US wants to take their ball and go home by any possible means.

You know, you just reminded me, I don't think I've heard about Ninja since he switched platforms again a while back? It's been nice!

Now playing

Amourath is a racist piece of garbage. She rightfully got kicked out of a gym for streaming in front of the mirror, violating everyone else’s privacy, then repeatedly claims “it’s cause I’m white” and that she’d be treated better if she were a “wealthy Saudi prince”.

How could it be a meme? Final Fantasy IVX is great with it having a free trial, and includes the entirety of A Realm Reborn AND the award-winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 with no restrictions on playtime? Sign up, and enjoy Eorzea today!

That’s one hell of a slammer.

little known fact that galactus eats wallets as well as planets

You can pair almost any wireless controller with the steam link FYI. I use my switch pro controller with mine and it works great. There's even a built in profile for it which maps the buttons properly for most games.

Same boat; if I do get one (which, like you said, will depend on reactions at launch), it’ll most likely live in the dock next to the TV anyway. So my questions are more ‘what percentage of my Steam library that my laptop can’t play will this thing run?’ and ‘how well does the dock support other controllers?’

Hoo boy....this will be as successful as Steam Machines and Steam Link!

Consider me interested. Design aside, I have wanted a way to access my Steam library and Steam games on my TV for some time, especially now that my laptop is old. The handheld aspect is less interesting to me, but we’ll see. Who knows if this thing will be even remotely available at launch, which means I should have
