Oh yeah, they both have terrible fans like you describe. Phish fans are much worse these days. Most of the Dead fans I know are all old folks who don’t have the stamina or patience to try to convince a non-fan to try to get into the music. That seems like a young man’s game.
The new generation does not like actual music. I blame the mp3.
Where else do you have to be? As a night owl this doesn’t bother me I’d just be posted up at a bar or watching TV otherwise. The only people who have a problem with this go to bed at 10. Maybe just make exceptions for the bands you really want to see and check the set times.
As a fan of both of those trash bands, I could try to convince you, but music is subjective, and I get why people don’t like it. I’ll just say to each his own and leave it at that.
