Oh jeez I'm so glad I never downloaded that dreadful place called "Home"

Unfair competition? And what about unfair pricing of years-old DS games?

MGS4 totally ruined the MGS franchise for me. The movies were great but the gameplay was too short, old-fashioned, boring, and uses the most ridiculous control scheme ever invented.

Copying someone else's franchise has worked very well for Blizzard though. Both WoW and Starcraft remind very strongly of Games Workshops' games.

@Jetsetharrison: part 1 and 2 on the ps2 were great! especially the vibe of the city, and the character depth were extraordinary.

I thought Forza 3 would improve the terrible image editor of Forza 2, where even the simplest images take hours and hours to create, and then they still look weird. #forza3

And then a racing game where your car gets bigger and bigger every time you drive over an opponent. #katamaridamacy

@kearneybobs: it still pains my heart to see so many great, weird and funky japanese rpg / dating / whatever weird games only get released on xbox360. Sony is japanese right? Where are the japanese ps3 games? #talkamongstyourselves

Personally I don't mind mixing genres as long as it works and it's fun.

Now that the PSPGO does away with the terrible, terrible medium called UMD (UMD must be the worst invention in mobile gaming, most kotaku readers always agreed on this), suddenly everyone starts worshipping the wonderful UMD format???

I'm sure this game will be better than the last Forza. I just wonder if innovation in racing games has really devolved to some minor graphical polishes and a more streamlined menu interface. And if so, why not release a downloadable update instead of calling it a new game. Same goes for titles like FIFA or all those

Why don't they just create one racing game called "Generic Racing Game" and just make the minor graphical updates available for download every year? I honestly can't tell the difference between any of these games any more, and these screens don't help at all. It might as well be the new Need for Speed, or the new GRID.

Ratchet&Clank, Bowser's inside story, Mini Ninjas, Brutal Legend, New Super Mario Bros WII, 3D dot game heroes

@Nside: They have ATM's which are quite rare in japan.

Yes the graphics are beautiful, but what about gameplay? It already looks repetitive to me...

Even if true controllerless gaming is a fantasy, you can't keep defending the traditional 20-button mayhem that we call a controller now. Just pick up a game that you played last year and notice how unintuitive it all is.

Not only right wing christian extremists are apalled by games that simulate raping 10 year olds....

That sterile blue "go play outside" image with the open window always scares the hell out of me.

@PAULINK: It's the same as with the WII. Just cram in some waggle controls into a game that was meant to be played with old-fashioned buttons, and don't think about it for another second.

I have to agree with mr. Hawk that using a traditional 24-button controller is becoming less and less interesting. Who wants to learn a new ridiculous control scheme for each and every game they buy? Often enough I've plugged in an old game to pick it up where I left off, and just couldn't remember all the insane
