Where does the letter writer say (or imply) they don’t know the basics of the language? While you may be able to adopt the proper accent / pronunciation when speaking a foreign language perfectly and immediately, not everyone can. Also - do you think that “the basics” of any local language includes every single…
Is this really that difficult to figure out? Just do both.
I don’t think the idea here is for the person to ask to speak with Angela and then just turn around and walk outside alone.
It’s also worth noting that the article references two cases in which women were abducted outside of bars.
What would prevent the other person from following them outside? Walking outside alone could be the least safe option.
I didn’t say that the act of establishing a policy, in and of itself, makes the policy legally enforceable.
Uh, ok?
You said you were done with this conversation - why are you still replying?
I was giving you examples of exceptions to laws - which is why those examples were immediately preceded with the words, “Many laws have exceptions. For example,”.
You are literally arguing that you should be able to dictate policy for someone else, while arguing that people shouldn’t be able to dictate policy for someone else.

The "ambassadors" all seemed to be douchebags for sure, but I'm talking about the stupidity of the outrage against people wearing them in public and "invading the privacy" of others. Also, those things were immediately recognizable - it's much easier to get away with surreptitiously photographing or videotaping people…
Except an email to the drivers isn’t a press release.
I don’t understand how so many people commenting on this story are unable to comprehend such a simple concept; if what you are doing is in any way disruptive to other customers or the staff, that’s a valid reason for them to prohibit that behavior. And even if it isn’t and the restaurant just doesn’t want customers…
“The person paid for the food, who fucking cares if they take a picture.”
Oh, yeah - I highly doubt this person knows much of anything about the “tradition and ritual” of which they speak.
