In the novella and movie version of this story, a lot of animals (including pets) likely died. Pets do die during apocalyptic stories.

The only parts of this episode we had already seen was when the car crashed and June and Hannah ran off. Other than that, it was all new content, stuff we had not seen before. So I'm confused how people are saying "This is all stuff we've already seen."
Weren't these episodes being released one at time weekly? Here is Canada they're aired one a week, but I've seen here that in the U.S. the first 3 were released all at once on Hulu, and then every subsequent episode was released one per week. So when episode 6 was released, you had a whole week before episode 7 was…
Or the lenses had been replaced. It is a dystopian future - hard to easily replace your prescription glasses.
Welcome to the world of fiction, where things happen because the writers want them to happen, not because they make logical scientific sense.
But what if the person you were holding the gun on was someone you loved and you were trying to break them of brain-washing?
Well, I can "roll with it" and enjoy super-hero comics/movies/TV shows where people can do things that break the laws of science because of super-powers. I accept that and enjoy them.
Venom is still mildly popular, but nowhere near what he was in the 90s. These movies are not made for those of us that have read all of his appearances and know about his Lethal Protector days. The majority of the non-comic book audience only knows about Venom from the third Raimi movie, and they've heard through…
Your point was that Orphan Black should not be a show where people are violently killed. This show has contained violence to many characters, good guys and bad guys, and it started with one of the good guys committing suicide by throwing themselves in front of a train.
I am amazed by all the comments complaining about how they don't care about Luke or his story so therefore there was no point to this episode. June is the main character of this story, and Luke is her husband. She just found out that he is still alive. If we care about June's story, then we should also care about…
There is no romantic love for anyone in Gilead. The commanders are focusing their sexual encounters on their handmaids, not their wives. In a generation or two under this system, the idea of romantic love would be completely alien.
We've had 6 episodes centered on women. We have one episode centered on a man, and all of a sudden that's one too many? Luke is the main character's husband and she just found out that he is still alive. June cares about Luke, so if we care about June's story, we should care about Luke's story.
The men in charge in Gilead don't want to give women the choice of choosing not to reproduce. As far as they're concerned, every woman that can reproduce, that should be their top (and only) priority.
We got Serena Joy's past life in the episode right before this one.
How does Luke divorcing his wife to marry June make him less sympathetic? He obviously doesn't love his current wife, and he wants to get divorced to marry June, whom he does love. Sounds pretty sympathetic to me.
It would have been awesome if, instead of hearing June's voiceover, we actually saw the note in Luke's hands and it said "YOU ARE LISA SIMPSON."
Agreed. I don't know where this Katniss comparison is coming from, but it seems to have come out of nowhere and those making it are acting like it's been there from the beginning. I just don't see it.
Luke wasn't stupid by not leaving sooner. Like a lot of people, he was thinking "things are bad, but it won't stay like this. They won't let it stay like this, or get worse." Until it was too late and he realized "Oh no, things *are* this bad and won't get better." It's like the "frog in a boiling pot of water"…
They might start out that way, but once they realized that they weren't repopulating their country fast enough with that method, they would probably take away more and more of the handmaids' rights for "the greater good".
