Interesting article - I deal with a lot of these things on a weekly basis.

...if it were ever enforced - it's rampant where I live in PA. I'm pretty sure you have to cause an accident or have a moving violation in order to have the penalty enforced. I was hit by someone last year who was on the phone and went left through a red light - almost as if it was a stop sign - she didn't even look.…
I make coffee every morning - at least once a week I dump the previous mornings grounds into the disposal and give it a quick spin - works great.
I can completely understand where you're coming from - some individuals complete lack of self discipline (not just in the financial sense) can get really frustrating - especially when its your family or close friends. I have a sister who is deep in debt, on public assistance, trying to raise 2 teenage boys as a single…
I agree with you on this - that's usually how I handle buying at yard sales. Occasionally though I may find other items I want and then the seller will give me the first item for the price I want since I'm buying a bunch of stuff. I totally agree with you it can get annoying - usually where I live most people don't…
True - items like that I try to get for free when I buy something more substantial or a bunch of stuff at one spot. We all have a price in mind we're willing to sell or buy for - it just depends on the person and the item in question.
Yea that's for sure - I've found the majority of people will work with you if you're polite and friendly - and also if you are interested in multiple items which will result in more $$$ in their pocket. But there are some that are flat against haggling of any sort - they have a price and won't take a dollar less…
I tried to go back to look but it's too many pages back. I just remember several people were annoyed by this tactic (if you can even call it that). I assume they were speaking from the perspective of the seller not the buyer. I like to go to yard sales - you see an entire range of people who will give items away and…
This is hilarious - I had posted this exact thing as a comment a while ago on a LH article on how to be more comfortable with haggling - and got blasted by a few people in th LH community about it - go figure.
My recommendation is to get a VHS/DVD combo player/recorder. I have one and it's really easy to use - it has a straight VHS to DVD copy button. It burns a disk that you could then play/rip to a computer or edit from there.
Ooooh this is a touchy subject for me - my nephews (10 and 12) have had iphones for the last year or so - they only text and shoot videos. Videos of them playing video games, texting, or shooting videos. Whenever I see them they are - you guessed it - texting or shooting a video - constantly. I wish they would…
Gotta admit - she can sing. I'm glad to see a child actor switching gears and finding some success in another art form. When I heard this song on the radio I thought it wasn't the worst thing I've heard lately:
I wish I could get back my $99 for Apple Care+ when I got my new iPhone 4S. The whole ordeal of setting an appointment and setup was a major pain in the A. It was very cumbersome and had to be done in a certain way - 1. set an appointment online - no spots were open for a while and the nearest spot was at the mall…
Jenny McCarthy was decent on Singled Out - in 1995.
Terrible. The big companies are capitalizing on the grey area of "folk art" and "inspired by". Obviously this is pretty much straight copying. I would be interested to know how much product is sold and if legal action is even worth it - perhaps if it got to a particular amount, I'm certain that copyright lawyers would…
Lots of things fuck up your bones and muscles - previous injuries, bad posture, prolonged sitting at a computer, drugs, lack of calcium/protein, etc ...
The opening paragraph - really?
He's always reminded me of Jack Black - now even more so...
