He’s just so good at buzzwords, and so many people just need to hear the right words to go with a plan (or a campaign). He might as well have stood up there and said “Faith. Jesus Christ. So blessed. Prayers. Bible. Every Sunday.”

I love that someone clearly told him he needed to appeal to evangelicals in Iowa so his solution was to hold up a bible and say “the evangelicals, ok?”

Nope. Not fucking weird at all! When universal human rights (womens rights) are involved, there’s no such thing as cultural relativism. “Not raping and killing women” isn’t comparable to, say, the hijab question (is it okay to ban it? Is it okay to enforce it?)

To me, the last paragraph exemplifies why this is a good idea. It seems like they’re going out of their way to avoid saying “your immigrant ways are wrong” and instead are saying “there are the rules here. even if these rules don’t apply where you are from, they apply in Norway.”

I was thinking the same thing, all children everywhere should be taught about consent and respect.

Is it weird that I feel like this is okay? Like, it should be taught as part of language classes and middle school classes and to everyone everywhere.

For everyone standing around looking at what the GOP has become even just since 2012 going “How the fuck could this happen?” Which, I think, is most of us, in both parties. I don’t think even with the rise of the Tea Party since 2009 prepared us for how frankly weird things have gotten.
