1) I’d like to be in control of what gear my transmission is in even if it has to have an automatic. In “manual” mode, most automatic transmissions have their own opinion about when to change gears that never coincide with mine

Not to worry. Anyone springing for the Bentley package is going to have climate control going full blast even during the 9 months they aren’t using the boat.

The times when you need to hit the defogger are also the times where you REALLY don’t need to look away from the road.

I think by minimalism they meant “minimal amount of parts that need to break to disable the entire car”

I have a ‘66 with vent windows. Why did they ever stop putting these in vehicles? Great ventilation without blasting rear seat passengers in the face with wind and a lot quieter than the jet noise that comes from cracking a window.

As a 2A and concealed carry supporter: I am 100% in support of this (as long as it doesn’t get morphed into an anti 2A tool). While I do believe it is a right, I believe it is also a heavy responsibility and people should be penalized for being irresponsible.

Every vehicle with an automatic I’ve ever driven (and I haven’t owned a manual in years). They are fine for cruising or putting around town, but when driving on the interstate, in less than ideal road conditions, or towing (even in tow mode) they are never in the gear I need them to be and take way to long to decide

I think it needs to be pointed out that a lot of these “special edition”s are from a time when even a “special edition” was still within (albeit the higher end) of the average middle class budget.

I used to buy used in my formative years because I had low paying jobs. Now I have a career with a decent salary, a 401K,

While I agree with the sentiment (way too many political and non-car culture opinion pieces lately), I think it’s misplaced on this article.

This is shining a light on what is damaging public opinion of our beloved car culture. We need to call this out and do what little we can to stop it. Get the word out that these

I was with you until “paperwork mistakes”. There’s already enough shady cop stuff going on. There’s plenty of legit routes to take including indictment resulting in selling them off at auction.

They kill the Connect in the US and announce this in the same year. I know a lot of other countries don’t like America, but this is just mean.

Or (hear me out on this), you could learn how to ****ing drive.

Top contenders would be the manual transmission cargo vans like the Transit Connect

My answer: A lot of the vehicles with a manual transmission that they sell in the U.S., but only offer the manual transmission in non U.S. markets.

I have to give you props for re-learning in a Mini. Unless they have reverted back to a more traditional clutch, throttle, and steering system, it has to be the least beginner friendly manual I have ever driven.

LOL!  I grew up in Alabama and still can’t stand country music.

That could work for today, but it wouldn’t likely be an option for long. How many people do you know that still subscribe to satellite radio anymore (that aren’t in the free trial period that came with the car)? Most people have switched to streaming music from their phones.

Most of the Tesla models I currently know about. (...waiting for the Tesla Army to stop firing before I come out from cover...) The Tesla drivetrains are an absolute marvel, but they keep putting them in vehicles that I (and many others) would never own.

Depending on the FM radio station you’re tuned in to, it would typically have a range of about 60-70 miles at full power on flat terrain with no atmospheric interference. In a lot of places, that doesn’t even cover an entire county. An AM station can be heard for hundreds of miles (some even around the world) and,

I am one of those guys (sort of). I don’t put all of that equipment in my vehicles, but I do have a separate set of mobile gear that’s ready to grab and take to a location to set up (separate from my stationary gear at home).
