The “good guys” with guns yesterday didn’t do shit. They ran and hid and left those kids and their teachers to their own devices. They were not just the magical gun heroes Fox News fantasizes about, they were also fucking cops, so double magical heroes. Worthless pieces of shit. 

And of course the same people who are calling for an armed resource officer in every classroom are also opposed to a school nurse for the entire district because it will increase their property taxes by $35/year

I wish I could tell you you’re wrong, that violence and fear only begets violence and fear, that we can find common ground, blah blah blah—but I can’t. Fuck every single one of those scumbags.

Two things:

A gun is not a magic shield - it is an offensive weapon, not defensive in any way, shape or form.

Thoughts and prayers mean nothing - faith without works is dead. 

and their base don’t understand that it pushes the aggressor to be even more prepared and shoot first whenever they see an adult in the room, the guy was using students and teachers as a barricade what exactly do more guns do in this scenario?

There’s apparently a new talking point out there about how “fortified” foreign schools are compared to the US. Can anyone confirm or (likely) deny? What kind of security do non-US schools provide? 

I’m American, my fiance is Colombian. We’ve talked about having a kid at some point in the future, and her only condition is to not raise them in the US, for multiple reasons, but shootings like this are a big one. This is a woman who grew up with the fucking Cali Cartel, and even she doesn’t feel comfortable raising…

Even worse is the fact that the NRA bans guns at their events. They know the dangers. They just don’t care about anyone.

Next it will be a politician doing the shooting.

The “Good Guy With A Gun” people seem to envision everyone on the scene automatically knowing who the Bad Guy is, with no confusion over which person shooting people is another Good Guy and which is a Bad Guy. Never mind situations with more than one Bad Guy.

There are over 400 million guns in the country. The genie is already out of the bottle and I don’t know what can be done to cut down on the deaths. But I do know that pro-gun people won’t even try.

There was a shooting at a charity baseball game for members of Congress in 2018, and a House representative actually got hit. What was done in its wake? Still nothing. Not even when the politicians themselves were the ones being shot at. Well, there was more politicization of the whole thing afterward, of course, but…

While Republicans and Fox News were offering thoughts and prayers and complaining that Joe Biden is too divisive, the parents of those 19 kids were giving DNA samples so the bodies could be identified. It took a minute for the horror of what that means to sink in.

Those monsters at Fox news who want everyone to arm themselves or arm the schools, need to see what it’s like to go through one of these things.

And it can take one bad day to turn a “good guy with a gun” into a “bad guy with a gun.”

That actually looks pretty good, I even see a smidge of pink in the middle. But I’m out with the cooking method. I prefer burgers to have some kind of char/crust on the outside. If I’m spending $7 on a burger, I’m going to The Habit. Thanks for the review!
