A lot of people seem to be missing the point that this shooting was an example of right-on-right violence. The shooter wasn’t old enough to have voted in a presidential election before, but he was a registered Republican. Any rightwinger claiming that they are under attack from outside forces is lying. The shots are

Biden’s “bullseye” remark was clearly a metaphor, one tailor-made for a country that has more guns than people. Trump, meanwhile, has talked repeatedly about having his political rivals executed for treason. This includes, it’s important to note, sham military tribunals for Congresspeople/civilians, such as Liz

If somebody killed Biden, Trump’s comments would be on the lines of “see, that’s what you get!”

Even President Joe Biden had to apologize for his metaphorical remark that it was ‘time to put Trump in a bullseye’”

I think both Seth Meyers and Colbert grappled with it pretty well.

That’s certainly a take.  Not, like, a good one, but it is one!

“If there’s not a candidate I like, all of you can burn in a fascist hell for all I care because I don’t.”

Possibly unpopular take?: It doesn’t feel like 2016 again, because IIRC there was a general sense then that of course Trump wouldn’t actually win and even he seemed surprised that he did.

Here’s the thing: reassuring your nervous supporters that the debate was “one bad night” shouldn’t be complicated at all. Just get the candidate in as many live, unscripted situations as possible to prove that he can still think on his feet and still has the stamina to campaign. Schedule a live, one-hour town hall

Last night. That’s why it’s so hard for people to see. Also, a LOT OF PEOPLE want American democracy to be over. And they’re being less and less coy about it. Now that it’s being used more and more to serve people who aren’t them, they are done with it and want everything burned down. Because people, by and large, are

Yeah, he ain’t wrong. Like, most everything CW put out was schlock, but it was fun schlock, and sometimes they had a genuine gem (well, at least until they inevitably ran it way too long and things got weird and/or bad... and sometimes even that was fun to see how wild things could get). And as cable dies its slow

Man such mixed opinions on S4.  I thought it was the best since season one and most people I know who watched it really liked it, but there’s a strong online hate for it.

IIRC, after Arrow-verse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths they explicitly said that their multiverse had all been destroyed but a new universe was created with all the superheroes in it. They then hinted at a future Super Friends show and John Diggle as Green Lantern, which then never happened.

Would Dwayne let anyone else play 1st fiddle?

One of the cardinal rules of movies is you don’t trust the man who wears glasses with a top bar.

What you’ll witness in the trailer is both girls looking really scared, but that’s it. You’ll have to see the film to know what’s got them in such distress.

It’s surprising for Grohl to be throwing such obvious shade Swift’s way, first because he’s clearly aware of the consequences of “the wrath of Taylor Swift,” and second because the pair have always been friendly in the past.

Such a great cast... And Lily-Rose Depp, too

And in the “There Are No Coincidences” Department - “The Odessa File” is a novel by Frederick Forsyth centered on those very ratlines, and it was made into a movie starring, yes, Jon Voight.
