I live by Alton's rule. I've even gone as far as getting rid of the toaster. I make toast on a flat skillet. It takes a bit longer and requires more attention than a pop-up toaster, but saves me literally half my counter space by not having one.

Can we petition to make ESDF the standard? First thing I do to any PC game is immediately change the movement bindings from WASD to ESDF. It maximizes the number of available keys by giving you easy access to Q, A, Z with your pinky as well as still being able to hit Tab, Caps, and Shift with it.
