Oh man, I am cross referencing the 350 (non-r) against the SS. I am not sure the 350 can handle the ss, let alone the z28/zl1 that is obviously on the way.

The 350R is so new it is hard to find lap times anywhere but chukwalla which seems to be the one place they disn’t drive a z51. However, MT put both through their figure 8. The stang is ahead of the ftype v8 coupe AND the m5 w/comp. However, it is 20 to 30 cars behind both of the stingrays they tested.
This is a fun topic. I hope you are not picking up any hostility, because there is none on this end :)
Thank you for correcting me. I didn’t know you could get a “base” gt350.
Hhmm... the electronic diff in the new stingray (z51) springs to mind as a pretty big difference.
To demonstrate the importance of understanding the precision engineering of your new Corvette Stingray or Z06, Chevrolet is covering at least 60 percent of your 2-day tuition at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School.* For only $1,000, the Level 1, 2-day program provides you with the opportunity to take your…
Oh, sorry. I thought you meant he put 20k into it on top of the purchase price.
Why is everyone comparing the ss with an LT1 engine to the zo6 with an LT4 engine and discussing weight? Super chargers are heavy...
Assuming ford makes more of them, the price will come down for sure.
Hhmm.. getting a 2016 gt350 for 49k? Pipe dream.
As a 2016 corvette owner, this does not bother me 1 bit. Rock on baby brother
Awesome milage on the stang by the way, I put over a quarter mil on a bitd. Finally sold it at like 277k
Haha ya, but if you are looking for build quality and interior design, neither are good options. Might as well have the fast one =p
I have put about 1500 miles on my 2016 vette in about 3 weeks. I love driving this thing. My roommates say we are out of milk and I jump up and say,”I’ll go to the store!”
Better hope your buddy doesn’t get H/C/I also...
This has been my first conversation on jalop, and I am greatly enjoying it. Daryl, thank you for taking your time to talk with me.
Pretty insightful post, thanks.
Yup, 11. I had 3 99’s in dark blue in a row lol.
Is this really true? I was not old enough to buy either when they were new. But in 98 the Mustang had 225hp and the base v8 firebird had 305... the block in these are aluminum vs cast iron in the mustang. I guess it depends how much you saved on the Mustang and what type of racing you are doing.
The cars were not built very well, but that power...
