There is a group I heard about in the Unerased podcast called the Mama Bears. They are Christian moms who support lgbt kids (usually bc their own have come out and they had a change of heart). They even walked a woman down the aisle after her parents disowned her. 

Oh her parents are worse. After they learned of the go fund me page they reached out for reconciliation and therapy. Guess they got scared of being outed as evil bigots and tried to make nice.

She’d be populist if she was espousing those same ideas as a vehicle to attain power and had no intention of acting on them (which doesn’t seem likely).
