That’s interesting and it seems like others are suggesting the same thing. I hadn’t really clocked it before you guys pointed it out, but I think that was where I was getting most of the zeitgeist about it and other movies I didn’t like in the 1990s - teenage male friends!

Oh yeah, I could see that. I liked TLB and Fargo but after that I feel kind of like I’m seeing the same things again. I’m REALLY not a movie buff though, and I’m being honest about my lack of educated takes, so this thread has been enlightening!

At the risk of outing myself as having terrible taste in film, does anyone else find most of his work unwatchable? I’ve just never understood the appeal of such a high violence to plot ratio and it’s really off-putting to me.

I commented in the next article about this testimony that I hope Mueller's being confronted with what his beloved party now represents makes him lose sleep. Patrician conservatism was always a myth and its plausible deniability is gone at this point. 

I wonder if Mueller’s former self identification as a Republican has been at all affected by his recent encounters with what Republicans now are. I’m not hopeful for him to change real world tactics, but I hope it bothers the hell out of him.
