Unwashed masses. Way to keep it classy.

I am old enough to have been bullied at school for liking Ewoks. This is nothing new, except in that case the bullies were not grown men.

Excellent point. To be a professional, you’ve got to think on your feet and make things work under pressure. That might have put John over the top. By that measure, James probably would have won had he not had a bad weekend in the tent for the final.

I don’t care for Star Trek: Discovery because I prefer the optimism of the earlier shows and I’m now fully annoyed with any show that tries to chase Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead’s habits of killing off characters. I also despise the bury your gays trope and don’t get me started on it wasn’t really rape

The film was certainly aware of the blaxploitation like fantasy elements of the story that were being played up, which culminated in the arrest of the racist cop, but the cop and Patrice were both fictional and both in the film to symbolize something. The twist is that the ending, both the surreal and the real

Yes! Also, they will hate anything that doesn’t make them feel like they did when they were a kid first watching Star Wars. They blame the films (and the women and minorities in the films) instead of the fact that they aren’t five years old anymore.

It’s not millions of people.

Here’s an idea: let’s let him rest in peace. He left behind some great writing where shared his struggles, thoughts and experiences. It was all he wanted to share, and if there is anything else there - and I assume there is some dark stuff - let’s let it be. We can remember him as he presented himself.

It was really close between Brendan and John, but it seems they went with the one more willing to take risks, and John’s showstopper was stunning to look at. I’m also glad he’s gone on to a thriving career as a presenter and baker and author. Even on this genteel show it was clear that John’s mother did not want him

I don’t think it is, but every time I see a post like that I can’t wait to see Rian’s new trilogy.

The series looks fun and gee-whiz and, as promised, to be targeting kids. So, of course, the bros will hate it. I hope the series does well and raises up a generation of non-sociopathic, narcissistic a-hole bullies to carry on the fandom.

It looks cute, and as promised, is targeting a pretty young audience. I think the Gee-Whiz tone is fun and appropriate, and I hope the show is good.

Don’t forget: “I’m superior to you and can do and say anything I want to you and that’s freedom, but you sticking up for yourself is you infringing on my freedom.”

I liked the movie and loved, loved, loved the lead performances by Washington and Driver, but there were some “no sh*t Sherlock” moments when it’s drawing parallels between then and now. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of people who see this film will be aware of the current racial climate,

I really enjoyed Blackklansman as a film, but it’s not perfect. I do appreciate how it showed white women collaborating in racism, but relatedly I thought the weakest characters were the fictional ones and that includes both Connie and Patrice, the female Black activist that Ron romances. Both characters were well

That’s the kind of backhanded patriarchy I can’t stand. It implies that if something appeals to girls (pink, dolls, disco music, sewing, baking, ballet), it isn ‘t feminism. The opposite is true. Charmed was silly but it’s hated more than Power Rangers or Knight Rider because it was feminine. It had romance. It should

Blackklansman isn’t subtle most of the time, except when it is and it handles itself well. I truly enjoyed it, and at the screening I was at people cheered and clapped at parts, and were reverently silent when it was appropriate.

Burn!

They made a public statement before talking to her privately, either personally or her people. They used a nickname in the public statement that makes them sound very paternalistic. B- at best as far as apologies go.

I would watch the heck out of both of those. Also, Feud: Adams versus Jefferson, Feud: Trotsky versus Lenin and Feud:Marsh versus Cope. But I think we can all agree Mary versus Elizabeth and Burr versus Hamilton are both played out.
