I like it too! Just, at certain points...I don't know, a bit much for me. But, I tend to have a quieter approach to things, and I have to respect those who fight the good fight. I've always gotten into trouble with other feminists because I liken my feminism to humanism and many find that problematic/annoying. This is

I was going to say, total second-wave vibe. I watched the HBO documentary on Gloria Steinem over the weekend and found myself cringing at some of the footage of second-wavers. Not her, because she's awesome.

Well, actually, I think the second wave would call it a symbol of oppression. The third wave is very "choice" oriented, so as long as no one is being forced to wear it (and that conversation is always a fascinating one) I can't imagine too many third wavers giving a shit.

Most of the kiddie books I read had animals as the protagonists.....

YES YES YES.

On my way!

I want a Million Woman March, and I want it now. Who's with me?

Let's talk about Ezra Jack Keats. Go look at The Snowy Day.

Here's what I learned from my Facebook feed this morning:

Rand Paul, Filibuster-er: American Hero
Wendy Davis, Filibuster-er: Hindering democratic process; uppity bitch; pro-death

I spent something like 15 hours in the Senate gallery today. I was part of the first crowd in the room and one of the very last few people out of it. I'm surprised I have a voice at the end of that—I screamed more in 13 minutes than I ever did during any Mardi Gras. I scraped skin off my pinkie finger from my ring

I was there. It was amazing. The noise leading up to midnight was deafening. No riots from where I was and I left about 2am central time and it was really quiet. So let's keep up the noise on social media! Tweet! FB! Flood tx senators pages with support and your disapproval!

BBB 4 represent!

I don't think I understand Tavi's tweet and it's making me feel old.

I have always heard that one guy's name as David Bean Coolie. I was disappointed when I found out the truth.

This is going to be the new normal for America. The only way you will be able to afford higher education is to be rich or suck a rich dudes dick. You won't be able to afford health care unless you are especially tragic and you can crowd-source on reddit.

Aaaggh! I get so annoyed when I read the phrase 'the Times of London'. The Times originated in London and therefore it is all the other spin-offs that need to qualify themselves, not the London paper. Makes. me. so. stabby!

I agree that we need more class-based affirmative action - but in addition to, not instead of, race-based affirmative action. Until people of color are no longer impacted by institutional disadvantages, this is a necessary system.

I WAS THINKING OF YOU WHEN I MADE IT SO I MADE ANOTHER ONE.
