Wow, who has a car that has nearly 400k miles and decides replacing the engine makes good sense, let alone again at 700k? At either of those decision points the cost to replace the motor has got to be far more then the car is worth. I mean kudos for the effort, but you might want to check your math.

I’ve had the manual Corolla Hatchback for 6 months and I have been quite happy with it. It replaced a 12-year-old Audi A3 which I very much enjoyed. In terms of driving pleasure, however, I’d say they’re about equal. Beyond that, while there are positives and negatives, the Corolla is fun regardless.
