To survive the early stages of a lawsuit the plaintiff will need to convince the court that there is at least a modicum of evidence that GM new about the issue and then lied about it. This will eventually make it less competitive. When you change the rules to make the pitstop easier (and quicker) for everyone you are going to shrink the difference between the fastest crew and slowest. So the advantage the best pit crew gives their team is now worth less then it was before.

My FIL has owned probably 30 old british sports cars since I’ve know him. He currently has 4 (3 MGs and a Morgan). All his cars are/were in excellent condition. Most are high 3 or solid 4 condition. I help him maintain them (which is like a full time job). They are just as bad as the memes unless you spend your week…
