In part of the video they seemingly swerve off the road/ramp to avoid oncoming cars then right back on to continue down the ramp. I don’t think suicide was probable here. Probably mental health issue or substance abuse.

I think that pretty much happened. Which is why we have airbags now. And as trucks get bigger and cars get heavier I can see new safety tech being needed.

Net gain yes for EVs as a whole, but not as much as some EV enthusiasts think. I think the point in this article is that it COULD be a losing proposition at a micro level. So before someone goes off half-cocked about how they (individually) are saving the world they need to consider the reality of it.

Reality check, battery coolant IS antifreeze . And the gear boxes on EVs still use oil to lubricate. The Model 3 even has a dipstick to check the oil and a filter for it!
