Now that i played 117 hours of it, i get it why they put it in 1st person. Getting up close with characters you’re interacting with makes it more personal.

Have you ever worked on a large-scale programming project before? Sorry, but sometimes no matter how good the programmers are, the project can still be mismanaged leading the project to spiraling out of control.

I like how you assume that implementing a polished, fully-functional third-person mode is somehow a trivial amount of work that the developers were just too lazy to do. I mean, it’s not like they were crunching for years just to ship the game with one camera perspective. Nope, gotta be laziness. Damn lazy devs!

I played Doom, Half Life and Gears on PC. I also looked at my previously played games on Steam, Origin, Epic AND the PS4, Xbox, Switch and my phone.

It really hit me when looking at this list, and some of the comments here, how this really wasn’t year for those top games. Which I completely agree wtih when thinking on it, yet funnily I played two of the most fulfilling gaming experiences this year in Valhalla and Horizon Zero Dawn PC version. Both of them left

Do you mean the games were bad or the circumstances surrounding the games were bad? Because if you couldn’t find some great stuff to play this year you really weren’t trying very hard!

No worries! I didn’t play it and it ain’t quite my jam. BUT don’t worry. I suspect it might be popping up on other lists around here...

This is my list though. I don’t care what other people played!

Valhalla doesn’t have any ray tracing, which kinda proves the point that people can’t tell if it’s there or not.

(I think ray tracing especially looks great when dealing with reflections and lighting on water - Valhalla’s water is some of the best I’ve ever seen

Most Hollywood stuff is done by union labor. Almost all video game work is done by non-union labor. Might have something to do with that.

They should!

I can guarantee you non of the people making bonuses off of this game are the ones affect by crunch. The ones getting the bonuses are the one implementing the crunch. That’s why they get the bonuses.

Hades was fucking ROBBED. Ghost was ROBBED.

Hold your horses. Witcher 3 had grooming as a free DLC. I’m guessing that’s what they’ll do.

I have to believe they’ll add it in some later patch after the high priority stuff is taken care of.  It doesn’t seem like it would be that hard.  Just let us access character creation at a ripperdoc.  Maybe add a price tag to each slider you change.

“And I’m like, bigger doesn’t matter because I believe in impact over numbers.”

As a PC gamer, my plan is to wait for 3 reasons (IE games) before I dive in on a new console. By then prices have dropped, we could be on revision 2 hardware, and most launch bugs are gone.

I only ever got new consoles when there were at least five must-have games on them that I couldn’t play anywhere else (like my PC). I only got my Switch late last year because Pokemon came out and that filled my last necessary slot. So far, nothing has jumped out at me on the PS5 or the XBox Series X.

So far it looks like VR games are only performing marginally better, apart from Blood and Truth which has some PS5 specific enhancements
