I’m not the biggest Kutcher fan in the world but he’s more charismatic than Bloom (especially Bloom struggling with that terrible American accent) He has good comic timing and was decent in Butterfly Effect around that time. I don’t think he’s great but he’d have been better than Bloom.

The weirdest thing is he didn’t grow up a fan. He came to comics late, when it was part of his job. You can't tell though, he's clearly so in love with it all.

Brass eye is incredible. As was Day Today. A Brass Eye producer did a tour where the talked about the show and had an hour long film of behind the scenes stuff, deleted scenes, etc, which was class. Shame it never got a video release (for legal reasons).

This is a pleasant surprise. He's not very prolific and he keeps a low profile, but 30 years on Morris remains one of the most interesting and exciting comedy voices in the world. Can't wait.

I maintain that the movie has the right ending, but gets the timing wrong. The immidiate reveal after the tragedy is such a tidy convenience that it’s almost funny. A small fade to imply a few hours passed would have kept the emotional impact but felt less contrived.

Pedant; Downton actually politely kicked everyone's arse.

If you can’t be assed watching it, there’s a great How Did This Get Made podcast on it.

Season 3 had plenty of great moments and ideas, but I felt the narrative lacked momentum. It may be that I didn't click in with either of McGregors characters the way I did with Tolman, Hanks, Freeman, Plemons, etc in the previous series. I love Ewan as an as actor but neither of those characters quite rang true to

It’s says something about how brilliant season 1 and 2 are, that the merely very good season 3 is kinda a let down.

I was sceptical about this, because Evil Dead is one of those films where the scratchyness of the whole thing is part of the fun. I’m not dying to see it in 4k, but a new modern sound mix could really enhance the experience without betraying its low-fi roots.

They may be gibberish, but they’re catchy. In the UK, a very significant portion of the public can sing large chunks of at least half a dozen of their songs.

His avengers had some lovely moments but the bigger plotting didn’t work for me. His x-men started off insanely fun, but again as it progressed it ran out of steam. He’s really passionate about it, so who knows? I’ve never been a Legion fan so I’ll probably never find out.

Yeah, but until GoPros you couldn’t actually film it properly. So it usually looked like utter shit. Or a lot of the time they were on Low Loaders (trailers) so not actually driving. Or it was scripted with the camera person swapping in for half the convo.

Firstly the NHS doesn’t have a “qutoa” that runs out. Whoever told you that was talking shite.

Agreed. I love Bendis, but the bigger the cast and the scale of the event, the worse he is. Daredevil, Spider-Man, Iron Man, his indie stuff etc are all superb.

Your post is full of false equivelencies.

What percentage of Spider verse success is down to Miles? Probably 14% Maybe 17% if I’m being generous.

Sightseers is a great fucked up love story. Offbeat, funny but very dark English comedy about a boring couple in a caravan who may be mental.

“maybe it was a bad idea to give him that title.”

Bruce Wayne is a household name, with 80 years of history who is worth billions as an IP. I don’t see how anyone with a passing experience of comics can think they’re really trying to replace him. They might take him off the table for a few months like they did for Dick or Azreal, but we all know he’ll be back. I
