That’s really depressing. Although I did actually want to be a Shriner for a good chunk of my teens; the summer camp I went to did volunteer work at the local Shriners Hospital every week, and I really liked what they were doing to help other kids and their families. Unfortunately, you gotta be a Mason to be a Shriner.

It’s nothing more than a collection of sad dudes in shitty marriages.

Hey, family, good news...

This wins sickest burn of the week. I bow down to you.

No joke, I've witnessed a fight that went almost exactly like this during a thanksgiving dinner with my family.

It sucks, too, because I’m sure the “does whatever the obituaries in Concord, North Carolina tells them to” constituency was leaning Democratic.

I like to think that Larry didn’t want people voting for Hillary because she isn’t progressive enough. Larry was more of an Elizabeth Warren guy.

I hope she wins & he haunts his family.

My friend and I talk a lot about our “living wills” and I always tease her because she is under the impression that a bizarre dying wish is basically law, haha.

So, his family can only vote for Hillary over his dead body?

stop the thread right here. (before me)

I’m calling BS on Granddaddy being so political. These kids of his are using him as a prop to spread their own political message. And since Larry is no longer living up to his last name, he can’t speak for himself. This is almost ghoulish behavior.

Thanks, but I’m just about done taking political advice from dead white guys.

What a progressive or liberal who supports gender equality (Joe Biden) would say about a female candidate like Sarah Palin is exactly, “There’s no reason a woman couldn’t or shouldn’t be president, but [Sarah Palin] is not qualified to be president.” And then they would list the reasons why, including lack of

I think the best way to answer the question is “Of course! People should elect the candidate who has the best skills to lead the country, no matter what their gender.”

You forgot the half of the year they’re begging for money. Please stop spouting their own propaganda. I live in the second largest city in my state and we’re lucky to see either one of our senators more than twice if it’s not their election cycle.

That is just like, your opinion man. I also work in government and I have managed not to get into the pants of our lobbyists and providers. It wasn’t that hard. We had meetings and meals together and I just did not do it

sure, date lobbyists. but don’t actively try and pass legislation that boosts them.

Yeah, but it seems like you also have to be willing to give them 10,000 dollars for the privilege.

You, my friend, are a goddamn patriot.
