Eh, some teams, if you smack talk them, they might find an extra gear and really get things moving. There’s like 3 teams in sports I feel like are already going to be int hat extra gear no matter what: The Spurs, the Pats, and the Crimson Tide.

Eh, do you really want him giving the Pats bulletin board material before the game? (See Steelers, Pittsburgh)

He missed his calling as a heel for the WWF in the 80s.

Consent?

Same. I didn’t initially realize the guy who whiffed was the safety, so I thought there was more help deep and Diggs was taking a ridiculously stupid risk.

I initially thought you were talking about Drew (someone who does no actual reporting) questioning Simmons.

Is The Ringer on the awareness/clicks/exposure level that Grantland was? I can’t believe that it is. He’s moving backwards.

People ask us why we harp on Bill Simmons a lot here and the answer is because he’s the most powerful, influential sportswriter in America.

People don’t remember that....or that BB had said Brady almost won the starting job coming out of camp.

Drew Bledsoe was a $100 million QB at the time. I mean, he’s not Brady, but at the time of the trade it was widely thought that the Pats had made a colossal mistake by trading him within the division.

I guess technically, Bledsoe got benched in November of that season, when he returned from the injury healthy but was not made the starter again. It’s tough to remember now, but at the time that decision was incredibly controversial and sent the Boston sports media into collective rage-gasms.

He also actually looked at the salary cap implications of either keeping both QBs or cutting Brady and keeping Jimmy, something which Wickersham never addressed.

Agreed. But it’s still ok to hate Bill Simmons.

I get that you guys can’t stand Simmons (though I’ve never fully understood why it runs so deep around here), but the following doesn’t strike me as the ravings of a frothing lunatic:

Living in MA, I would be a fat blob if I just decided to relax for the entire “winter”, which last a solid 5 months. You just have to get used to doing stuff in the cold.

Look at how clean that styling is. Such restraint is rare. It looks good enough to buy and own with some revisions like rear visibility.

I was kinda hoping it would look more like this. No? Just me and my dream of a Victorian opium den on wheels. With Wi-Fi.

You have to boil shellfish alive. If they’re dead without being frozen for more than a few hours, they rapidly decompose and taste pretty damn gross. If you ever attend a crawfish or crab boil, you’ll see the bushels being picked through for dead ones. I live in California, but being from Louisiana, my family gets
