I have learned that if I don't get a balance of protein and carbs, I never get full, and if the protein comes from animal sources (including dairy), I get full faster and stay full longer. However, if I don't have bread, fruit, root vegetables, or something similar with the protein, I have the same problem.

How about people that don’t subsist on protein powder? Also more difficult if you’re trying to eat a plant-based diet as most pure sources of protein are meat. Yes, legumes, tofu, and nuts have protein but it comes to come with mixed carbs and fats.
