I use Xbox Live and I’ve disabled UPnP. You just have to set up port forwarding. If you really want to throw caution to the wind you can set up a DMZ for the Xbox but then it's really wide open.

I’ve had UPnP disabled for years and never had a problem with my Chromecasts.

Help me out here. Port forwarding isn’t on by default, nor is DMZ. In every router I’ve ever worked on, you have to turn these things on. So, why is this happening?

How does sharing strategies for not shopping at any particular outlet come even close to meeting the definition of censorship?

Anyone that says any networked system is “hacker proof”, is asking for trouble, IMHO. I do “get” how legacy systems can be simpler and therefore have fewer vulnerabilities. Still...

Wouldn’t it be great if the US finally converted to metric?

Sure. Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Just type asmr into youtube’s search engine and you’ll get the idea. It’s a feeling of relaxation (some people, including me get somewhat tingly) at certain sounds and situations. Often the feeling is accidental. Certain people’s voices and situations trigger it for me. I

Good book all about this phenomenon. The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz. Here’s a link to his TED talk of the same name:

Sorry to be a hater, but that was surprisingly unhelpful. It was also weird the way HE wasn’t the expert but rather, he learned this tip from a psychologist. That was just....odd. Anyway, lately what’s been helping me is two things. One, you may need less sleep then you think. I’ve tried going to bed pretty late. I’m

Are there research backed ways to wake up in the afternoon without coffee? I perfectly happy sticking with coffee in the morning; but in the afternoon I’m trying to avoid it so it doesn’t interfere with my nightime sleep.

You’re lucky that they pushed Marshmallow to you, then. I’m told that will never happen for the N4; hence the desire to go Cyanogen.

Did you skip Lollipop, then? That’s where I’ll be stuck forever unless I switch to Cyanogen.

Indeed I did! Though, I didn’t find it made much of a difference. My time between necessary recharging is still pitifully short. I AM considering switching to Cyanogen. Stock has become more and more buggy. Had to uninstall updates for Photo and Maps as they simply didn’t work properly. A little Googling revealed that

I have a Nexus 4 and I’m still doing fine. :-)

“It takes me a long time to learn anything, I’m kind of a goof-off, and little stuff starts disappearing from the workplace”. - Homer Simpson

So then what was up with the security panic we had?

Just finished this book and loved it. Thought I'd Google to see reviews and lo and behold...

It seems like it overlaps its functionality with Airdroid, no?

Yeah, I agree with Alan. Lots of pen and paper geeks say they've been riding on their reputation for a while now. While that's true, they're still a bit more luxurious than a spiral notebook; but like Alan says, if you're utilitarian in that regard, why not save a few bucks an go spiral.

100% agree. It paid for itself in two haircuts for my son. My daughter won't let me cut hers even though it's long and should be simpler (just cut off the ends). I've tried to convince my wife to cut my hair but she flat out refuses.
