Everybody is gonna hate me for saying this, but he shoulda put an LS in it. That stock engine looks like a complete nightmare to work on and a stock LS1 would probably make the same if not more power with way less hassle.

Windshields are designed to crack without actually breaking open. It's not uncommon for the passenger airbag to crack the windshield as it breaks out of the dashboard. Every deployment I have ever seen has cracked the windshield.
