Faster, almost certainly. More fun? You might be surprised.

I think what’s happening here is that folks who were fans of the car way-back-then have the financial means to buy the car they once wanted. In the ITR case, imagine a college student in the late 90s coveting the Integra but couldn’t buy the car with zero income and a negative net worth due to student loans. 20

That’s fancy!  Maintenance Budget only slightly higher than the Integra...

You bring up a valid point, but every one of those cars will lose value the minute they drive off the lot. The majority of the cars on BAT will only go up in value.

I dunno. I’ve owned a 3rd share of a family condo on Maui for 20 something years and never used it once. I’m in SoCal, I’d much, much, much rather just go to Mexico or central America for the same money or less. Or SE Asia for just a little more. Fuck overpriced Hawaii is what I’m saying.

I don’t care who you sleep with, just don’t punt me off the track.

I’m shocked a 200 lasted a full three years

I’m shocked a 3 year old 200 is $14k. I wouldn’t have paid that much for a new one.

it does...but its easy enough to fix with an aftermarket unit that’s bulletproof - it’s an LS afterall

I’d be going with the Miata for dealer reasons alone...

The Gen1 CTS-V is nice, but the G8 and SS both don’t have rear ends made of glass. The SS and G8 GXP are much better in every way from the 1st gen CTS-V. Also, the G8 and SS have much better interiors than this car.

at least compare the same years

That Accord wagon looks damn good!

You seem like a car guy, but what car guy goes 30k miles between swapping oil?

Next stop: Flavor Town

I doubt you have much to worry about.

How are they not?

The market is driven by the folks who wanted one back then in their youth and now have successful careers and are catching up with those old dreams. This isn’t any different that guys buying up 1960s muscle cars twenty years later. It’s a cycle that will continue as long as we have desirable cars and the human

Toyota won’t give it more power, and won’t let Subaru either. The Miata is what, 400lbs lighter? It’ll run circles. And even the Miata’s current 155hp engine has basically the same torque as the FRS but peak is available 2000rpm lower than the FRS.

I didn’t read the article: the poster
